Summary
Celebrating its 71st year, the Iroquois Steeplechase is Nashville's premiere spring event and draws an average crowd of 25,000. Traditionally held on the second Saturday of May, this colorful event attracts the best horses and riders in America, as well as the crème de la crème of Southern Society. Unfortunately, tragedy befell the race this year, when Arcadius, the winning horse, died of an aneurysm immediately following the race.
